Pink Week: Pumpkins

I was drooling over SweeterThanSweets fantastic “no-carve” pumpkins on Pinterest when I spotted the Breast Cancer Awareness versions by The Swell Life.

My ribbon pumpkin took two tries. I originally used an orange pumpkin to disastrous results. Since I ignored Alexa’s instruction to seal the painting surface, I had trouble with the foam brush removing the paint as I added layers. Plus, multiple layers didn’t cover the orange and pink + orange = gross purple mess. I got another white pumpkin started over. The white pumpkin was a dream to paint – even without prepping the surface. Another lesson learned is to always sketch with pencil as it took three coats of white to cover the pen I used.

I used Gem-tac to attach the rhinestones to the Bedazzled Pumpkin.
